AUDITIONS – I Love you, You’re Perfect, Now Change

DECEMBER  2nd   The Little Theatre, UJS, Carvoeiro.

• People should prepare to sing a short segment of music (no more than one verse and one chorus of a song, i.e. 24-30 bars or so, or 1 to 1½ minutes).
• Auditionees should select the portion of the song that best demonstrates their vocal range (especially the higher range; this is often, but not always, at the end of a song).
• Ideally, auditionees will bring printed sheet music for piano accompaniment (with the staves for both the right hand and the left hand on the piano, along with the vocal line); there are numerous websites where people can find and download sheet music for vocals+piano.
• If auditionees can’t obtain sheet music for their song, they must come with a recorded accompaniment without vocals (e.g. karaoke soundtrack).
• Auditionees will be tested for their ability to harmonize.
• Auditionees may be asked to read a short scene.
