THE ALGARVEANS
OR TO GIVE THE GROUP ITS OFFICIAL PORTUGUESE NAME, OS ALGARVIOS TEATRO EXPERIMENTAL.
WE ARE AN AMATEUR DRAMA GROUP BASED IN ALGARVE, PORTUGAL.
We aim to produce two plays a year plus an annual Pantomime/ family show, and are an active group with members from the multicultural background we inhabit however, we do perform our productions in English.
Currently we perform our shows at the splendid Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, Lagoa, which seats up to 300 for each performance. Occasionally we perform at the beautiful Silves’ Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório and in June 2019, for the first time at the Convento de São José, Lagoa – with an intimate auditorium seating 90.
