Calling those who want to help behind the scenes

The Algarveans are always looking for people to join the group.

And it’s not just actors we need to put on a production.  Aside from being on stage there are numerous other crucial roles that need to be filled in order to make a show happen.

We would love to hear from you if you are interested in any role, no matter how small it may be or how little time you have to offer – many hands make light work.

From set design, building and painting to front of house, sound, lighting, props…… plus of course social activities – there is something for everyone!

We are currently looking for volunteers concerning two key roles:

1.      Warehouse Manager  –  The Algarveans are very fortunate to have a warehouse to store props, costumes, accessories, sets and set build materials.

Once the set is built the group can also rehearse there.  The warehouse is located next to O Tasco on the EM532  just north of Monte Canelas.

We are looking for someone to take over responsibility for running the warehouse. Update the contents inventory and organise an annual/bi-annual clear up and ensure that the warehouse is kept in a clean and orderly manner.

2.     Press, publicity and marketing  –  after many years at the helm Debbie is exiting stage left and giving someone else the opportunity to take over this role.  She will help and support her replacement until they are happy to go solo.

The job involves working with the production teams to organise publicity and advertising campaigns, writing/editing press releases, arranging/taking photos, updating and keeping a media contact list and producing the group’s newsletter plus updating Facebook and of course the group’s website.
